Orlando - Opening Night soon....

Sunday, September 16, 2007 - Today we flew from Owenboro, KY to Orlando, FL. I must admit that this evening is the first night that I feel a little home sick. I always say to friends when I am not in the city, "I want to be on 50th and 8th right now." I really do wish I could be in mid-town west right now having drinks with friends. The people in this cast are great, but I feel like it is going to take some time to really connect.

I am excited for my ma and pa to come to Orlando tomorrow. They both are coming to Opening Night on Tuesday, September 18th. I think that they are going to be blown away by this show. I even predict that they will see the show more than once when they are here! I love them soooo much!

First Night of Previews... with a Standing Ovation!

September 15, 2007 - Last evening in Kentucky, we had our first night of previews. The show ended with an instant standing ovation from the audience. We have one more preview performance this evening before we travel to Orlando tomorrow to open on the 18th!

THE ROYCE RESTAURANT - OWENSBORO, KY

Wanda for President! Wanda is the best waitress this side of the Ohio River. She makes The Royce what it is. We love you Wanda!
Inside at THe Royce with Alex, Jolie, Pat, Lori (the girl's teacher on the road) and my roomate in red, Ricky.

The Royce Restaurant, located right next store to Slaughter on second Street (?), is a small mom and pop diner that we eat at on a regular basis. Get an entree, 3 sides and a salad for $5.00. Can't beat that!

Downtown Owensboro is quite a ghost town. I did manage to find a nice ma and pop cafe this morning for lunch, but literally had to walk twenty blocks out of the way.

(Sept. 1, 2007) After two weeks of rehearsal in New York, last evening the entire cast, production and design teams flew into Kentucky where we will stay for the next week to tech our show before we open in Orlando. We are staying the the Executive Inn in Owensboro, KY - where on route here last evening passed several corn fields, cows and power plants!

As for the show, this evening we will start the official tech of the show. Now that we have the blocking, lines and music down, we will now incorporate lights, sets and costumes.
